Latest Inquiries - Data Extraction Software

Submitted: 7/24/2013

The purpose of this project is to build a list of B2B Prospects to call and offer our products and services. Quest-Logix sells High Availability/Backup/Disaster recovery solutions, as well as data center services. Our primary contacts are high ranking IT personnel. We market primarily in Texas—Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio and Austin.

We would like to build a target list of potential clients using the following search criteria:

1.       Contact Name

2.       Contact Title:

IT Manager, Manger of IT

IT Director, Director or IT

Infrastructure Manager

3.       Contact email address (if possible)

4.       Contact phone number (of Company phone number if no direct number available)

5.       Company

Employees of 100-1000

6.       Company City  (State and Zip code if possible)

7.       Geographical location:

Within 75 miles of downtown Houston  (77002 is the central zip code for down town)

(Same with Dallas, Ft. Worth and other cities above. The miles between cities will have to be adjusted as Dallas and Ft. Worth are very close, as is San Antonio and Austin.)

Good websites to get data from include LinkedIn, Google, etc.

Prospecting Examples/Clarification

The purpose of this project is to find IT managers, IT Directors, Vice Presidents of IT, etc., in a certain geographic area, make a list and call them.  Websites that would be used include LinkedIn, Google, perhaps some social sites, sites with organization members, INC 5000 list ( and others.

We need phone numbers, so the search software would have to try and find them.

LinkedIn—In LinkedIn, we can log in and do an “Advanced” search. The search criteria is below and we simply fill in the Title (IT Director, Director of IT), the zip code (77002 for downtown Houston, Texas) and the press the Search button. We can log in,  enter the search criteria ourselves and generate the results. We need your product to copy the results (Name, Title, Company) into a spreadsheet, and also to find the phone numbers for the contacts.  (This can be found in a Google search by typing in “Contact Us – Quest-Logix”. Notice the space between Us and -, and again a space after the -.)

This is what the search criteria looks like:

Title Location Country Postal CodeLookup Within

    The results look like this:

Here is an example of a search in Google.

Google: We can find the same thing in Google that we can get in LinkedIn by using some Boolean logic. Example:

-inurl:/dir/ ("CIO" OR "CTO" OR "IT Manager" OR "IT Director") AND "Houston, Texas Area"  (We would like to search for one title at a time to limit results)

OR, we would like to use Google to find any IT Director (or CIO, or IT Manager, etc) in the Houston, Texas area, and not just pull from LinkedIn, but from any source Google can find.

When I bring up the project, the Google website says "To Continue, type the characters below". So, the project never has a chance to start.

To continue, please type the characters below: About this page Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen? The block will expire shortly after those requests stop

If I could type in the characters and click the submit button, it would work. Can you make this adjustment to the project? Also, as the project is going, I could get this message again, and would need this functionality to continue.

Please check the attached demo project.

You need to place the project file in default projects folder, then run in in VWR.

Usually, Google has strong protection mechanism,  It must be that you made lots of requests to google, google blocked your i/p address, therefore, it asked you the captcha characters for prevent bots,

With the topic link that I gave you, what my proposal is that you can set the optional form-field then semi-auto submitting the captcha.

Or you can rotate multiple proxies for avoiding this issue, we've provided a free private proxy switch for you.
