Extract basic profile data from LinkedIn by passing current employer name

Submitted: 10/9/2013

I would like a trial project that would extract the five boxes from the LinkedIn public profile (see attachment).

Thank you very much!

1.) Could you please describe how I would add my email & password to the project?

2.) Could you please describe how I modify the fixed company name in the project?

3.) Lastly, is there a document that Visual Web Ripper require to capture requirements to develop projects?

Many thanks in advance.

Very Best Regards,

Bill

Can not fully understand that you just want to extract data for one person only?
Here is a demo project file that search for first and last name and make a list for that name and extract data for name, education, experience and category.
Please check the attached files.

If I wanted your Sequentum team to build a project how do I submit requirements? Is there a standard requirements document your team uses for project requests?

Please follow that instructions on this page to submit a quote request.

Generally, our project developers will work with you to get a project developed the way you want it, but make sure you attach the demo project, so they have a starting point.

Here are some answers:

1. Edit the Email content element and enter your email in the Capture window, and then save the content element. Do the same for password.

2. Edit the searchRedirect Redirect template. You'll see the following URL:

https://www.linkedin.com/vsearch/p?company=General%20Motors&openAdvancedForm=true&companyScope=C&locationType=I&countryCode=au&rsid=79233181381392122518&orig=ADVS

Change General%20Motors to something else. Notice that %20 is HTML encoding for a white space.

3. I'm not quite sure what you mean. Visual Web Ripper runs project files to capture data. The project files specify how the software should navigate a website and extract data. The Visual Web Ripper editor is used to develop project files.

Please forgive my lack of information - What I require for this project is to provide the name of  Company such as "General Motors" & obtain a list of all the people who have "General Motors" as their current employer with the five (5) fields I have requested.

Lastly, I need the project to allow me to login to the site in order to execute the project.

Many thanks in advance.

Very Best Regards,

Bill

I've attached data extract project and sample data extract.

It can be very difficult to extract data from Linkedin, and there's a limit to what we can do in a demo project.

In the attached demo project you'll need to add values for email and password to login (I've created the data extract with my own login, which I've deleted from the project, so you'll need to add your own).

The demo project uses a fixed company name "General Motors" which you can change manually in the project. If you want to be able to run a project for a list of companies, it becomes more difficult and we cannot do this in a free demo project.
