am interested in tracking airfares over time. This would be done on a
fairly regular basis (perhaps daily), so I hope your program could help
me in this regard. This would involve gathering airfare prices from the
Air Canada website (http://www.aircanada.com/en/home.html). For example, one way direct fares on the Toronto to Vancouver route.
Leaving from: YYZ
Going to: YVR
For the departure date, I am interested in fares over various booking dates; such as 1, 5, 7, and 30 days from departure.
After searching, when you get to the “Select Flights”
page, it lists the direct flights first, then the connecting flights
(which I am not interested in). For this route there are up to twenty
daily flights and I am interested in the lowest “Tango” fare. There may not be a “Tango” fare available for all flights and some flights may have different “Tango”
fares. I am interested in collecting all of them (and averaging it out
later). The fare listed is the “base fare” only – when you scroll over
the fare you see the “Total fare” (which I’m interested in). You can also see the total fare by clicking through to the “Review Flight Details”, under “Grand Total - Canadian dollars”. Alternatively, collect both the “Departing Flight (Tango)” and “Taxes, fees, charges and surcharges” values separately.
Ideally, I would like to be able to
expand the program to do the same with other routes as well as add more
departure dates. Thanks.
