Drop down selection

Submitted: 3/22/2016
I need to extract schools data from a website "http://www.tcf.org.pk/schoolList.aspx" where the user is required to select the "province" and "district" using two separate drop downs (bottom of the page) to display the required list and then further clicking the school name display its data. I am unable to create a template in VWR that can be used for selecting an item in drop downs for "province" and "district".
Kindly help me in selecting an item in drop downs.

Dear Joongki, Thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried the project but it didn't worked. The project is giving errors in capturing the schools details. I have tried both WebBrowser and WebCrawler but both didn't worked. I am attaching snapshots of the errors of both WebBrowser and WebCrawler. Kindly look into this once again. Thanks.

Regards
Ali

Thanks Joongki, it worked.

We were actually creating the formfield but not the template associated with it. The project is now selecting proper items in drop downs.
We just wanted to know one more thing; The list of schools that is displayed after selecting the drop downs has further links associated with school names and we need to click those names to open the school details window and extract data from it. we have tried opening these links with AJAX and Javascript but it didn't worked. Kindly help us in this regard.

Best Regards
Ali

Hello.

I have checked the web site then built the project to iterate through two form field contents to load school lists to extract data.

Please check the attached project then let me know if it is working properly on your end.

Best Regards:

Joongki.

Unfortunately, this website works in an unusual way, and it's not possible to get the data using Visual Web Ripper.

It is possible to get the data using our premium software Content Grabber. I've attach a Content Grabber demo agent and sample data in case that software is an option for you.
